SANCHEZ, MARTINEZ - Death News Article - at Pueblo
wedding to Martina Martinez, at the
home of the bride in Salt Creek. Murder committed by
a reject suitor of the bride, broke
up wedding festivities. The crime is thought to
resulted in the death of Fabino Gallegos
and Amarance Chavez. At the hospital Chavez made
effort to tell who did the shooting but
was to weak. He said one single word,
"Cirranio", this is thought to be the first name of
the man who fired the shots. Two theories result,
one being that the shooting of Gallegos
happened because he was being shown more favor
during the dance than the murderer, and
the shooter was an unsuccessful suitor for the hand
of the bride and created a disturbance.
Chavez, a friend of the man who was killed
interposed and was shot. RMN 09/16/1911 Page 2
